Master's Message January 2026
Brethren,
I have to say, that I am truly enjoying my time in the East. It has been a genuine joy to see Lafayette Lodge continue to be a beehive of activity
over these last three months. This continued in December!
During our December meeting, we had a full house to enjoy a wonderful steak tip dinner followed by our annual Holiday Concert with the Cumberland Music Program Clef Singers. We also had an entertaining visit from Santa & Mrs Claus that was truly delightful for all in attendance. Finally, we presented the Family Literacy Center of Lincoln with checks totaling $2500! This gift was made possible by the breakfast fundraiser, a donation from Lafayette, and the generous support of the Grand Lodge matching program. Thank you to all who helped raise money to support this cause! This will help make a big impact for kids that depend on the Literacy Center for community help and support. https://www.familyliteracycenter.com/
We then travelled to Friendship Lodge in Chepachet who put on a very strong EA degree, and who were generous enough to do a courtesy degree for Lafayette’s newest EA, Paul McGregor! In support of Paul were no less than a dozen Lafayette Brothers who travelled to be there! Thanks you gents!
We then visited our neighbors in North Attleboro at Bristol Lodge to join W: Jesse Thom in thanking them for their support of local schools through their Angel Fund. We were very well received by our neighboring Brethren, and again, had a strong showing of Lafayette support.
Finally, last weekend, after probably the busiest Monthly Breakfast that we ever had, we had over 50 attendees for our Annual Saints John Night, where MW Smith, RW Drisko, and a number of other Brothers put on an truly enjoyable evening of food, fun, and fellowship. It was so good to be able to spend an evening at the Winter Solstice, with friends, family & Brothers as we headed into the remainder of the Holiday season.
Reflecting on all of the good times that we have had this year, and all of the events that have occurred, I am reminded that none of this would be possible without the help of my Brothers. Thus, I thank you all for your support this year, and for all of the fun that we have had so far! Can’t wait to see what 2026 brings!
Fraternally,
W:. Matt Ludwig
