Master's Message April 2026
Brethren,
As the remnants of Winter melt away and the sprigs of new life slowly begin to emerge from the ground, I am reminded of the lessons which teach us about the eternal echo of the work that we do in a place like Lafayette.
I am thankful for all of the Officers that stepped-up and selflessly gave of themselves to ensure that our March meeting went so well in my absence. A special thank you to B: SW Mike Sprague who was thrust into the East and handled it with such grace. Also to W: Jesse Thom for filling in for the massive shoes of the Secretary. Not an easy thing to do, so thank you as well! I will always appreciate this entire lines support!
I reflect on the preparation and work of all of the Brothers that helped to make this year’s Franklin Farm Breakfast such an incredible success! Lafayette served breakfast to somewhere in the area of 130 people in 3 hours on that Saturday! The money raised to support the Farm is wonderful for the community, and the dedication to wake up early, prep, cook, clean, and deliver such an amazing product continues to fill me with appreciation for all that my Brothers do for each other here at Lafayette. I know that we continue to receive genuine praise and thanks from the Farm as well.
I also reflect on the sometimes unshared/unknown journey that brought each of us to this place in our lives here at Lafayette. In traveling to visit our Brethren in the south at the Grand Master’s visit to Charity Lodge, B: JD James Bray was honored by the Grand Master for his years of service to our country in the Air Force. Thank you for your service James! I am humbled to be a part of this new Masonic journey of so many incredible men’s lives.
All of this is to say that whether it is the things that we have done in ourlives that brought us here, the things we do to support each other intimes of need, or things that we do to selflessly support those in ourcommunity, it all matters. All of this echoes in the realms of eternity…and what a glorious sound the echo of Lafayette Lodge continues to make.
Fraternally, W:. Matt Ludwig
