Masters Message January 2015

Greetings Brethren!

I am pleased to be writing this after an exciting and fun visitation to the Metro District by our Grand Master Wyman P. Hallstrom III, hosted by our beloved Redwood  Lodge. The visitation was an exceptionally enjoyable one. The Metro District came out in huge numbers to support our Grand Master, and the program of the evening received rave reviews. It was especially gratifying to see an extended gathering of the brethren after the meeting to taste expertly roasted and brewed coffee and enjoy each other's company.

The winter holiday season reminds us of our Masonic duty to help our fellow man as liberally as we can without injury to ourselves. I was pleased to see the Redwood Lodge Sock Drive for CrossRoads RI to be a huge success. The donation box was filled to overflowing. Because winter is exceptionally long in New England, I am extending our sock drive into January and February meetings. I encourage the brethren attending to continue to bring new socks and underwear of all sizes and styles to the Lodge for our regular meetings.

In January the Lodge is thrilled to host our District Deputy Grand Master, the Right Worshipful Glenn S. Carlson for his official visitation to Redwood Lodge. The  program of the evening will be presented by the always informative and entertaining Right Worshipful Richard Lynch who will be presenting his new program, “The Path of Illumination; Masons, the God Particle, and Religion; retracing the sites of Angels and Demons”.

Redwood Lodge also begins our degree work for the year, beginning January 22nd with the Entered Apprentice Degree. The Lodge officers are looking forward to providing a meaningful experience for our three candidates, and I encourage the brethren to join us for this special event. In closing, I’d like to extend warm wishes for a safe, healthy, and prosperous 2015 to you and your families.
