Master's Message December 2017

Greetings Brethren,

A new year is always filled with new resolutions, new hopes, new goals; and with it, a chance to amend and fulfill those dreams we didn’t get a chance to complete. A fire of hope is everlasting, burning within us, hoping to reach places we have been aspiring to since long ago; and as we approach the end of this year, let me remind you that those dreams and goals can only be achieved in the NOW; don’t wait until tomorrow, don’t wait until next year to make new resolutions; every moment has an infinite potential to do and complete all that has been queued up for a while. One cannot complete undone tasks in the past, the future is uncertain, the only chance you have to fulfill those resolutions is in the now. Begin these changes, Now.

I have to sincerely thank all the Brethren whom in one way or another, contributed to our Table Lodge; it was a successful event as far as attendance and enjoyment. The visitors as well as the members had the pleasure to enjoy traditional Venezuelan food, and learned more about their past.

My Brothers, unfortunately we have to reschedule our EA degree for a special communication in January; as both candidates are unable to attend our December meeting for several personal reasons, and since our DDGM visitation to the Metro District is at our regular January meeting, there is no other way but to hold a special communication to confer the first degree on our candidates. I will provide the correct date for the EA degree as soon as possible.

Lately, I have been following a series of talks from TED Talks online, which are influential videos from expert speakers on education, business, science, tech and creativity. Therefore, I’d like to share some of these topics with the Brethren in our meeting in December as part of our monthly program, mostly about conscious leadership, and the value of leading by learning how to follow.

The Holidays are around the corner my Brothers, and I cannot stress this point enough; let’s enjoy them responsibly; care about those that don’t have; share indiscriminately, listen deeply to those who need to be listened to; call those Brothers, family or friends who are sick and would love to hear from you, pay them a visit. Remember, "Faith may be lost in sight; Hope ends in fruition; but Charity extends beyond the grave, through the boundless realms of eternity."

Be well my Brothers,

Fraternally yours,

Javier R. Alfonzo
Worshipful Master
